FmPro Migrator 5.31 Released

.com Solutions has released FmPro Migrator Platinum Edition 5.31 Microsoft Access to FileMaker Pro Migration Feature. FmPro Migrator Platinum Edition 5.31 has been updated with enhancements to the AccessToFmPro migration feature. Using FmPro Migrator Platinum Edition, FileMaker Pro developers can automate the conversion of Microsoft Access Forms/Reports, Relationships, Value Lists, Queries and Visual Basic code to FileMaker Pro database solutions.

The Access to FmPro Migration feature can easily save hundreds of hours of development effort in a typical Access to FileMaker Pro conversion project. FmPro Migrator Developer Edition can re-create hundreds of Access Forms or Reports as new FileMaker Pro layouts in a matter of seconds. FmPro Migrator Developer Edition uses QuicKeys(MacOS X)/WinAutomation(Windows) to copy the newly generated layouts into a FileMaker Pro database file at a rate of approximately 200 layouts per hour.

The new Access to FmPro migration enhancements include:
* Form/Report Visual Basic Code Exporting - Each Microsoft Access Form/Report can include executable Visual Basic code. This code may be triggered by opening the Form or Report, or clicking a button. Each function or subroutine is extracted from the Access database and converted into a separate commented script within FileMaker database.


* acCommandButton Image Exporting - Microsoft Access acCommandButtons can contain embedded images and text labels within the same object. FmPro Migrator now creates an image button object and a text label object within the converted layout in order to replicate this same functionality within the FileMaker layout. The text label utilizes the font name, size and color attributes from the original button caption text.

* More reliable exporting of VBA code modules - Some Visual Basic code modules within the main part of the Access database was previously omitted during the conversion process. This code is now extracted and converted into commented FileMaker scripts.

* More Reliable Exporting of Reports - There were some situations in the past in which reports could have been omitted from the exporting process. These reports are now exported and converted into FileMaker layouts.
