For 1.1.4 Firmware users, use this tip: 1. Add source on the installer: http://apptapp.saurik.com/ 2. Install Cydia While installing Cydia, the system will automatically move your fonts and ringtones to another partition, thus freeing up your OS partition. The space will be available for you to install more apps. http://mohdnajwan.putrabytes.com/

I added iClarified to my sources but BossTools is not in my Utilities. I have 1.1.2OTB. It originally was jailbroken at 1.1.1 and I had iClarified in my sources and BossTools was available along with many games, ringtones etc in my categories in installer, but now most of these things are missing... what happened?

@iClarified. I think it's useful if you add the Step: Install BSB Subsystems (if not already done so). Users here seem to be coming from different stages in the JB and UL. For thos who use the ZIPhone direct method, BSB is not installed yet. This seems absolute necessary prior to installing BOSSTool

Hi, I have 1.1.2 phone jailbroken and updated to 1.1.3. When it was on 1.1.2, I was able to install the Boss Tool successfully. But once I upgraded to 1.1.3, the Boss tool icon dissappeared. So I uninstalled it and tried to install it again. I got the following error"Main script execution failed". Any idea what is the issue here. Thanks

Ok, I went through the plist file for the Installer sources. Try adding a new repo, with the URL "http://sleepers.net/iphonerepo". That _should_ contain all the BossTools, as far as I know. I upgraded right from 1.1.1 to 1.1.3, so I have no idea how things work for you...

If you relocated the Apps and Ringtones. Then whatever Apps and custome Ringtones you add from that point onwards will be residing in the media disk, similar to the relocated Fonts.

Take it all back. Being a NEW iPhone I just had to Install BSB SubSystem. Now it works FINE. Pity that BSB APP takes up 5 MB on it's own, but what the heck, relocating Fonts and Ringtones alone gives me 75MB more space. Now 2 new Q's: a)Does anyone know if it's now safe to move the APPS as well? b) What happens with new ringtones and apps? (the Prog says xx already moved, so what happens to newer APPS?)

Guys, Alternatively, why don't try the newattiphone.com's Installer-Space_Limit Fix to relocate your Apps. That would give you unlinmited space to install anything under the sun. Check their side out. http://newattiphone.com/showthread.php?t=52 Add its source in Installer. newattiphone.com/repo.xml I had done it on 3 iphones withour any issue at all.

Version 0.35 worked fine on my "old" 1.1.2 OTB using the old downgrade and upgrade to 1.1.3. procedure. It does NOT work on my "new" 16Gb iPhone which was jailbreaked and unlocked via the ZIPhone Method. Although the SW installs properly, each time I press Relocate Fonts or Relocate Ringtunes the Phone appears to be doing something, but the space in the Root remains UNCHANGED. The interesting thing is, that in spite of installing more and more APPS, the space on / remains steady at 51 MB. Guess we'll have to wait for an update?

That shouldn't be a problem. What sources are listed, and what version of Installer do you have installed? (It says what version it is on the welcoming screen).

Hi Kendall, I did try that but still not able to find the packages. The other thing is noticed is when i go into sources it has a lock at the bottom of the globe. What does that mean? Thanks
Kendall
Kendall - February 12, 2008 at 1:48am
yes, I had the same problem. Install Community Sources from the Sources category. Then refresh the sources.

Hi, I am unable to find bosstool and some other application. Is anyone facing the same issue? Do we need to change or modify the source. Thanks

I see what you mean :/ Really strange... The only thing I can think of at this stage is restoring, then jalbreaking and jailbreaking with the collection of tools that Zibri put together. (https://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=656 and https://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=655). That would probably be quicker than trying to find the problem. Of course if you have a ton of settings, contacts, etc then that would be a pain. I don't think that this has anything to do with the new folder layout, /private/var/mobile rather than /private/var/root, though. Though if possible it would be good to check that there is an at least an Installer folder in one of them. What's the contents of /private/var/mobile/Library/Installer/ ? (At least, I take it that you can access the phone via SSH?

all packages... really strangs, still doesn't work. Can it be that because of the program the root has changed? or the installer can;t find the right map to install it?
Kendall
Kendall - February 11, 2008 at 1:46pm
The repositories changed recently. See if you can install the "Community Sources" package in the "Sources" package. That should replace the sources with new ones rather than just refreshing the package list. Or do you have this problem with all packages?

@kendall: thanks for thinking with me! but those things are not the problems, wifi is working on pc, iphone (via Safari). the sources I refresshed them more times and i didn;t changed those after updating. Maybe other ideas?! Thanx
Kendall
Kendall - February 11, 2008 at 12:08pm
@wichert: Either you are not connected to the WiFi network in your home (Settings -> WiFi) or there's something wrong with your sources. If that's the case, in Installer, tap Sources along the bottom, then Refresh at the top left. If that fails, check that you have a working connection to the Internet via Safari.

@seljose: isn't that enough space to play with? I only have 64mb after relocating the fonts - but ibegan with 1mb right after upgrading to 1.1.3. What do you need the extra space for?

make sure to have the BSD subsystem install, or else it wont relocate the files.

266MB free space is probabdly just right. The rest of 34MB should be loaded with OS. So, 286MB+34MB = 300MB. That's the correct figure.
gc8
gc8 - February 9, 2008 at 11:17am
I already freed it all, 266mb is what i have so when i free it doesnt change that number it changes how much I have free.... so you figure it out lol
Tino
Tino - February 9, 2008 at 10:21am
Well, after Apps migration, you should have about 35mb, after Fonts migration, you should have about 120mb free on os partition. So, go figure it out!

Add this to your installer source, it's BigBoss's BossTool repo. iphone.sleepers.net/repo.xml
