My Iphone is Vers. 1.1.4 YOU MAY NOT WANT TO CHECK "ACTIVATE" when you jailbreak. By doing this through ZiPhone it disconnects your YouTube connection for some reason. I learned this the hard way and so have many others. Feel free to do an internet search for "JAILBROKEN IPHONE CANNOT CONNECT TO YOUTUBE." According to different posts, if you don't check activate, you can activate your phone through itunes after your jailbreak and your YouTube should work as it did pre-jailbreak. To all those that are currently YouTube-less post jailbreak. There is a fix, it involves using Open SSH and WinSCP. I had no idea wth that was until I jailbroke my iphone and read a few posts. But there are step by step instructions for this whole process at the following link: (http://www.iphonehacks.com/2008/03/youtube-fix.html). If you are a legit AT&T customer, as I am, I lost service after this youtube fix. All I did afterwards, which isn't stated in the fix above, is open up iTunes and plug in my iPhone. After about 40 seconds, service was restored to my phone. I'm assuming the fix de-activated my phone and connecting it back to iTunes re-activated it. I hope this helps. Btw, I ran this fix after installing several other apps post Jailbreak. So you shouldn't need to restore your phone for this fix.

Sync your contacts, prefs will reset and yes you'll have to reactivate. It should recognize it and activate it automatically.

if I do this will my contacts and preferences stay as they are? Will I have to re-activate my service with AT&T?

reboot... reboot.. reboot and nothing... instal Bricktool/SignalFix and nothing... i dont know what i can do!! thanks wombat

@luisyo: There is a Tutorial here "How to Unlock Your iPhone with ZiPhone GUI (Windows)" or "(Mac)". Your decision. Regarding signal. Maybe you're just msising the icons for the signal, have you tried to make a call/send an sms?. If that didn't work, reboot. Reboot again....No? Reboot again. Else check Installer for a Signal Patch. I haven't needed it, but there is a patch there... i.e. add source http://www.sendowski.de/iphone. Patch Bricktool/SignalFix might work...If not, no harm done.

Finally i do it.. now i have a 1.1.4 iphone avtivated and jailbreaked.. but i no have signal? why is taht? i have a stealthsim and i dont wana unlocked beacuase that change my basehand... thanks wombat

@luisyo: because this tutorial is just to JAILBREAK. For activation and evtl. unlock you need to use other ttutorials here!

dont you like have itunes7.4.2 if u do how do you downgrade 7.6.1 to 7.4.2 bcuz zibri sed you hav 2 downgrade it 2 7.4.2

@armando Some of the apps dont work because they are not compatible with certain firmwares. Also most of the fixes for apps and youtube etc etc can be found in the installer. You might have to add a couple sources, but most fixes are in there.

i jailbroke my phone but youtube doesn't work is there away you fix this problem o and also once i go to intaller some of the apps dont work any reason way they dont work .

@ bjlm, you must restore to 1.1.3 then follow the jailbreaking procedure mentioned above.

I updated my 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 from iTunes and then used the Ziphone and it worked fine.

hey guys, After having problems upgrading my OTB1.1.2 to 1.1.3 using 'official 1.1.3 upgrader' i restored back to 1.1.2 and used the Ziphone to jailbreak/activate my iPhone and to my surprise it was still unlock using GeoHot's unlock method. Fixed all the necessary bugs and i want to ask which method is best for me to upgrade to 1.1.3? Advice?suggestions?

@Holli: there a a number of EDGE Fix Solutions in the installer. If you are using t-Mobile, try this one...............@plasticseven: you wrote jailbreak and activated. What about -u for unlock?

I have a 1.1.1 unlocked, upgraded it via itunes (1.1.3/4.6BL) and used ziphone to unlock/jailbreak it, works fine and i get to keep my files, contacts, photos and my playlist! ...so don't be afraid just do it!

I have the phone unlocked and jailbroke, OTB 1.1.2. BL 4.6, but I cant get EDGE to work on it so i can get on the internet...Is this something I can fix at all?

Okay just got done doing it for the 7th time and they didnt work but this past time i tried with verbose and it worked but now i cant install anythign from installer...it keeps saying failed...i am on 1.1.3 3.9bl so if someone could help that would be great. thanks in advance

Excellent app, I just try it on a otb 1.1.2 restored to 1.1.3 with itunes and executed the -a -j command and everything works but it remains in the emergency dial screen? I do not want to unlock it since I'm using a ATT sim card but not on an iphone plan? How can I jailbreak it and activate only? Just one more note if I do -a -j -u its OK. Any ideas....

ok so i followed the tutorial like it said and i actually got the ziphone jailbreak method to work. the only problem is my youtube doesnt want to connect. i downloaded the file from i.unlock.no and that was to no avail. anyone willing to help this noob out.

How to find out what version of firmware I have. I bought a used Iphone from a friend. I'm not sure if i can unlock it.

i can get locateme to work without downgrading to 3.9. i install locateme from installer run it one time then uninstall and then the locatme on google works fine. this way you don't risk bricking phone changing bootloaders. one question is locateme the only pro to downgrading to 3.9? what are the other advantges?

Hi I have followed the below guide and able to unlock 20 iphones without any problem within 1hrs. 1. Download ZiPhone.zip v2.0. 2. Extract zip-file into a folder. 3. Open the Terminal-application, enter cd, drag the folder where you unzipped ZiPhone from the finder into terminal - the folder name should appear behind the cd typed in before. Hit return. 4. Connect your iPhone to the PC, wait until iTunes has been started - and quit iTunes. 5. Enter ziphone -j -a -v and return. DON'T FORGET THE -v OPTION, AS IT SEEMS TO CURE THE APPLE-PROBLEM! 6. After restarting you should see messages rolling thru on the screen of your phone. After appr. 40 seconds the iPhone reboots - and is activated and jailbroken. 7a. To unlock the iPhone WITHOUT downgrading the bootloader to 3.9 enter ./ziphone -u -v. After ziphone has displayed some messages, the iPhone's screen starts to show messages rolling thru. After appr. 2 minutes the iPhone reboots - and is unlocked. Because the bootloader is still 4.6, the modem firmware has been downgraded to 04.02.13_G - so Locate-me is not working. 7b. To downgrade the bootloader to 3.9, enter ./ziphone -b -v. After ZiPhone has displayed some messages, the iPhone's screen starts to display messages rolling thru. After around 2 minutes, the iPhone reboots and the bootloader is downgraded to 3.9, the phone is unlocked similar to AnySIM 1.3. If you are stuck with a 1.1.1- or 1.1.2-phone - or a phone which only displays the Apple after boot, bring the phone into restore mode (switching the phone off - and on again while holding the home button) and restore it to 1.1.3 using iTunes. Don't worry about the 04.03.13_G modem firmware, ZiPhone will taking care of it. After the iPhone has been restored, start with step 1.

What happen to ziphone file? tried to get the file from rapidshare and said it was deleted by the person who made it!!! any help with this!!!
