Samsung Galaxy Fold Orders Will Be Automatically Canceled If It Doesn't Ship This Month

Samsung has informed customers that pre-orders for its Galaxy Fold smartphone will automatically be canceled if the device doesn't ship this month. The Galaxy Fold release was delayed due to numerous issues encountered by early reviewers.

If you placed a pre-order you will need to confirm that you want to keep the order alive, despite the delay. Samsung tells Reuters that U.S. regulations required the company to notify customers that pre-orders would be cancelled in event the smartphone hadn't shipped by May 31st.

Here's the email customers received from Samsung:

-----
Thank you for your patience in waiting for the launch and shipment of your pre-ordered Galaxy Fold. As promised in our email to you on April 22nd we' re writing with an update on your order's anticipated ship date.

As we mentioned in our last update, many reviewers shared with us the vast potential they saw for this new form factor, but a few had some issues. We are making progress in enhancing the Galaxy Fold to make sure it measures up to the high standards we know you expect from us. This means that we cannot confirm the anticipated ship date yet. We' ll update you with more specific shipping information in the coming weeks.

We understand you are excited to get your hands on the category-changing Galaxy Fold and we apologize for the delay. As a reminder, your pre-order guarantees your place in the queue for this innovative technology. You will not be charged until your order ships. If you don't want to wait, you may cancel your order at Sarnsung.corn at any time before it has shipped. If we do not hear from you and we have not shipped by May 31st your order will be cancelled automatically. If you do not want your order automatically canceled on May 31st you may request that we keep your order and fulfill it later. If you do request that we keep your order and fill it later, you still have the right to cancel the order at any time before we ship it to you.

Would you like to keep your order?
YES, I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP MY ORDER

We value the trust you place in us and are committed to delivering the very best in mobile technology. Thank you for your continued support and patience.

“you may cancel your order at Sarnsung.corn at any time” WTF? Is this just a phishing spam mail?

This is the ugliest thing ever. It’s clunky and looks heavy. Foldable phones shouldn’t be this large. It defeats the purpose. Maybe a phone that folds small and opens like one of the ones we have now, instead of having to carry a double phone like this seems to be. But kudos for trying.

Terrific. Rather than saying”Your order is suspended”, they’re applying pressure on themselves to once again rush something out the door before they ensure it isn’t faulty. Can you say “recipe for disaster”?
