Apple May Launch New Apple TV With A12 Processor

Apple may be planning a refresh to the Apple TV, according to leaker @never_released.

In a tweet earlier today, the leaker said, "Apple TV refresh coming (AppleTV11,1)", adding that "It bumps the SoC to an Apple A12".

The new AppleTV11,1 is purportedly codenamed J305AP. MacRumors was able to find references to the device in a leaked internal build of iOS 13.


MacRumors can confirm that both the AppleTV11,1 model identifier and the J305 codename appear within strings and plist files in an internal build of iOS 13 that was provided to us, but this does not guarantee an imminent release.



It's been two years since Apple released the Apple TV 4K so it's very possible that Apple will introduce a refreshed device, especially given the launch of Apple TV+.
