Not sure if anyone else is having problems using ZiPhone, but should you have a problem getting past the recovery mode when you try use Ziphone. What you have to do is once you hit the "Start Process" and then quit ITunes right after. Then it will continue doing its magic and your good to go.... Took me a while to figure this out, so I wanted to make sure no else wasted theres......

Hi, I just unlocked jaibroken my iphone 1.1.4 8GB. Unfortunately itunes will not let me see the summary, photos, playlists, music tabs anymore. Simply a devices on the left pane showing the iphone and the same list of music in the music folder. Can you help me with this? Or is it Permanent? Thanks

I am facing one problem while installation. I have just installed 3 new game and now I am not able to find the installer option into main desktop may be because there is no space into desktop so I am not able to uninstall the game. Please help me to find out the solution.

For those having issues with downloading packages from installer. Make sure that you not only refreshes the sources but as well clear up the queue, that way everything gets clean and now u can get to download ur stuff again.

I unlocked, activated and jailbroke the iphone using ziphone 2.5. BUT i have the email - mail application that crashes. I saw 'dood''s reply to change the user name to mobile. Anyway, I got this trick from mypdacafe.com forum so the credit should goes to them. Okay, 1st step put atnt sim card or any working simcard, digi, maxis (other than celcom) n power on.. Wait till got some signal bar / no network display.. 2. Go to setting, carrier. It will search for network. (if no carier show, go back home and wait a while). wait till all 3 network found. (leave the right tick to default "automatic") 3. Press power button (put iphone on standy NOT OFF). 4. Replace the simcard with celcom. (the msg no sim will pop up.. just ignore it and just press the power button to put it on standby mode again) 5. Press power button then 'slide to unlock' You will see the network list. Choose celcom and go home.. Never enter carrier menu again. Note: on step 5 you need to unlock (keying sim card pin) 1st if you enable the sim lock. Good Luck

@wombat, im not sure that will be the case, but i've read that apple could easly check the serial number with the BL version and would know if you messed up with the iphone and brick your iphone or in the best case scenario just prevent you to upgrade. Maybe the iphone community can find a way to upgrade a downgraded BL iphone but still, makes it harder i guess. Any way, anyone know why that happened to me???

Hi i had an 1.1.3 16GB unlocked with ziphone (i dont remember what version). I tried to restore to 1.1.4 and i wanted to unlock my phone but keep BL 4.6, so i downloaded ziphone2.5c and ziphone2.3 so i could activate and jb with 2.5 and unlock with 2.3. I choose the second button, Dont Unlock, Activate and Jailbreak Only and then hit the Start Process Button. It ended up downgrading my BL to 3.9 and had an unlocked phone but not activated. I could see my provider's name on the top but had the slide for emergency screen. I even got an incoming call, I've never seen that. So i went to advanced options, selected activate and jailbreak and that took care of the problem. I now have an 1.1.4 unlocked phone with baseband 4.04.05, but i wanted to have BL 4.6 and baseband 4.02. Now i probably wont be able to update to fw 2.0 when it comes out. What did i do wrong so it doesn't happen again??? I guess ill have to sell this phone and get a new one and try the iplus method.

Works great! Yet one has to consider, that for the Unlock the original AT&T SIM-Card hast to be inserterd. I first restored to 1.1.4 from an unlocked OOTB 1.1.2 . Ziphine did not workl with the inserted Swisscom-SIM-Card.

I have the 16GB iPhone and been trying to jailbreak it and Unlock it for a while and everything seems to work but my dang YOUTUBE can never connect.. doesn anyone have a exact answer to why this is happening? i have been using the windows version and haven tried the mac version.. has anyone confirmed if youtube works.. i also am using AT&T service also.. plz HELP!!!!

OK, so I have a 1.1.3 OTB 16GB iPhone and a 1.0.2 OTB 8GB iPhone. I've unlocked and Jailbroken both using the Geohotz method a long time ago and the soft upgrade to 1.1.3. Will it be safe to restore both phones to 1.1.4 and use ZiPhone 2.5 to jailbreak and unlock? I don't want to do anything that will screw up my or my girlfriend's iPhone.

For those having issues with not being able to download anything via installer after jailbreaking ("cannot download package") you need to go to installer, go to sources at the top left click refresh and refresh all sources. That should do it...

Can this be completed if I don't have wifi or EDGE access?

I have an 1.1.2 OTB and i restored to 1.1.3 from iTunes, did it all with Ziphone and the iPhone stay forever in Recovery Mode...any ideas guys?

It activate and unlocked the iphone without a hitch. But it did not jailbreak it. I tried several times and it would not jailbreak it. I used independence to jailbreak and it worked like charm. Had a 1.1.3 3.9 bootloader and now I have a 1.1.4 with 04.04.05_G baseband. Everything works except for Boss Tools. Tried to move the fonts and it would not work.

so here's the thing, i tried the 1.1.4/2.5 GUI but it just JB'd my iphone...then i spent forever getting it to 1.1.3 so i could use 2.4 to unlock it and it worked...now here's the problem...my Installer craps out on me . after a few downloads (vnotes, bsd, openssh) i can't download or install anything else and all it says is "ERROR - cannot download package" even when i try to uninstall...anybody got some suggestions ?

In Canada with an unlocked 1.1.2 with a stealth sim. I want to upgrade, will this method work with non US phones?

Tried to unlock from an 1.1.2 unlocked with stealth sim. restored on 1.1.4 then used Ziphone 2.5. everything fine. but: although the sim is recognized there is no connection to the provider. no calls, no sms. otherwise no problem. any ideas?

I have a similar question that was recently asked... I have just put my line on hold with AT&T so I no longer have service with them. When I go through this procedure should I keep the AT&T sim in or should I pop in the BT sim from the UK? Will I be able to switch back and forth if I need to without having to do anything? When I use Tiger, do I need to kill the iTunesHelper app and quit itunes before running the application? I've tried other versions on my mac, but none of them passed the 'entering recovery' mode:-(. I've seen ivo and aRte encountered the same probs, but just to be for sure.

Worked flawlessly. 1.1.2 OTB, BL 4,6 --> Jailbroken, unlocked with Stealth --> Today: RESTORED with 1.1.4 Firmware i downloaded, used Ziphone to JB&UL, following this guide. Thanks, you are a lifesaver!

This worked like a charm. Restored my iPhone using iTunes (synced first, to backup my contacts/calenders). After that, ran ZiPhone, waited 4 Minutes and «boom» :) Installed BSD-Subsystem and Open SSH, ran AppSupport from Installer... Now I'm on 1.1.4 :) Thanks iClarified, thanks Zibri!!!! You rock!!!

i havent received my iPhone yet so when i go to do this do i put the vodafone sim in first then run ZiPhone or keep the AT&T in and once updated switch to the vodafone?

Worked fine... Matter of fact this is the only time ziphone does not give a weird message at the end. Just said successful or something like that. ONLY THING... Now YouTube will NOT work, no matter what. working from MBP 10.4.11, iTunes 7.6.1 (9). Any ideas? thanks.

Mine won't upgrade. It says it does, but I still have 1.1.3 with baseband 04.04.05_G? I the Progress Log it says "Could not enable SSL", could that have anything to do with it? Don't know how to fix that..

I restored in itunes to 1.1.4. Then in followed the instructions. Ziphone enters recovery mode and then nothing happens...?! any ideas?
