Apple has pushed out the third public betas for iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, tvOS 26, and HomePod Software 26 for users to test. This version follows the sixth developer beta, which arrived for developers earlier this week.
This latest beta continues to refine the new 'Liquid Glass' design language. The visual effect is now more pronounced on the Lock Screen, making the clock and passcode buttons more translucent than before. Navigation bars have also been tweaked for better readability, and a new introductory video now walks users through the design changes after updating. Other visual updates include faster app opening and closing animations with a subtle bounce effect, and toggles in Settings now feature the Liquid Glass material when tapped.
Apple is also adding to its new 'Reflection' ringtone collection, which now includes several variants like Buoyant, Dreamer, and Surge, alongside a completely new ringtone called 'Little Bird'. You can listen to the full set of Reflection ringtones here. In the Camera app, the 'Classic Mode' toggle that was added in the previous beta has been removed, making the older swipe-based navigation the default once again. For iPadOS users, the Preview app also gets a redesign with larger, more accessible buttons.
You can join the Apple Beta Software Program here to try out the new software. Once enrolled, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update on your device and select the public beta from the "Beta Updates" row.
