Apple just pulled back the curtain on iOS 26 at its annual WWDC event, and the big question is already on everyone's mind: will my iPhone get the update?
We've got the official compatibility list right here, so you can check for yourself.
iPhones That Will Get iOS 26
If your iPhone has an A13 chip or newer, you're in luck. Apple has confirmed these models will support iOS 26.
● iPhone 16e ● iPhone 16 & 16 Plus ● iPhone 16 Pro & 16 Pro Max ● iPhone 15 & 15 Plus ● iPhone 15 Pro & 15 Pro Max ● iPhone 14 & 14 Plus ● iPhone 14 Pro & 14 Pro Max ● iPhone 13 & 13 mini ● iPhone 13 Pro & 13 Pro Max ● iPhone 12 & 12 mini ● iPhone 12 Pro & 12 Pro Max ● iPhone 11, 11 Pro, & 11 Pro Max ● iPhone SE (2nd generation and later)
iPhones That Are Not Supported
To make room for the new features, Apple is ending software support for a few older devices. If you have one of the following iPhones, you won't be able to update to iOS 26.
● iPhone XS ● iPhone XS Max ● iPhone XR
What to Know About Features and Release
The iOS 26 update is more than just a number. It introduces a major design change with a new "Liquid Glass" look and adds a suite of "Apple Intelligence" features. It's important to know, however, that the most demanding AI features will only work on the iPhone 15 Pro and the new iPhone 16 models.
As for when you can get it, Apple is sticking to its usual schedule. The update is free and will arrive for everyone this fall, likely in September. For those who like to test things early, a developer beta is available now. A public beta will be available sometime in July, though we generally recommend most people wait for the final, stable release.
When the time comes, you'll be able to update by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone.
