After having its application ritually rejected from the App Store, Grooveshark has released its iPhone application via Cydia.
Grooveshark gave up on the App Store because Apple has been ritually rejecting the app for primary selfish reasons.
TechCrunch reports that the startup spent many months developing the application only to go months without a hearing a peep out of Cupertino.
For those of you not familiar with the service, Grooveshark is an internationally-available online music search engine, music streaming service and music recommendation web software application, allowing users to search for, stream, and upload music free of charge that can be played immediately or added to a playlist. Their iPhone application requires a Grooveshark VIP subscription ($3/month) which you can sign-up for from inside the app. Once a member you can use Grooveshark Mobile to connect to your online music library, search for music from the Grooveshark catalog, and access your saved playlists and library with your Grooveshark account.
You download Grooveshark from the Big Boss Cydia Repository.

That's dissapointing. I've been waiting for this to hit the app store, and now it seems like that may not happen. =(

Well done Grooveshark!
It's a real pity that a great device as the iPod is, is getting so darkened due to Apple's policy.
I still think most of their products are simply excellent, but such attitudes goes against everything.
I wish there was an iPhone alternative already... would abandon iPhone for something from a less big-brotherish company.
