Pixelglow Software has launched Instaviz 1.6, the next version of the best diagram sketching software for the iPhone and iPod touch - now specially redesigned for the iPad. Users can sketch on the larger, 10-inch display of the iPad and edit their settings with the new popover controls - working their ideas into mindmaps, flowcharts and other diagrams faster and easier than before.
The app was one of only 1,500 apps that Apple approved for the Grand Opening of the iPad App Store (3 April), and quickly rose to the 25th Top Paid iPad App in the Business category (5 April).
First released in December 2008, Instaviz has become one of the most popular diagramming software on the iPhone platform, with its simple sketch-to-create interface and deep feature set. Enthusiastic users have purchased over 4,000 copies and awarded it 3.5 stars out of 5 stars over 113 ratings on the App Store.
Instaviz is the killer app for the iPad. As Jason J. Guillickson of Gullickson Laboratories and others have said, "Instaviz is the first compelling reason I've had to desire an Apple tablet (the iPad)."
Graph and text display continue to improve in version 1.6. Delivered as a Universal app, Instaviz needs only to be purchased and downloaded once to work on both iPhone and iPad.
"I burned several 2AM nights readying Instaviz for the iPad launch day," says Glen Low, author of Instaviz. "We're pleased that Apple acknowledges our contribution to the new iPad user experience by accepting Instaviz for the iPad App Store Grand Opening."
Pricing and Availability: Instaviz 1.6 is $9.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Business category. The single download will work on both the iPhone and iPad. Existing users can upgrade for free.
