Posted April 15, 2010 at 9:09am by iClarified
Software development company Fusion Mobile Solutions has announced the re-release of iScanner, an iPhone and iPod touch application that transforms the device into a portable police/fire/EMS scanner. iScanner allows listeners to follow over 4,700 feeds from police and fire departments, emergency medical response teams, air traffic control, severe weather reports and even the NASA shuttle launch!

Space fans across the US will be eager to get iScanner in time for the Discovery shuttle's April 19th descent. With iScanner, users will be able to experience the space shuttle's return like never before, listening to live feeds from mission control as Discovery is brought back down to Earth. From any place in the US, iScanner listeners can listen to actual air chatter from the landing facilities enabling them a unique, first-hand experience. In an effort to make the app available for educators to tap into the April 19th shuttle landing, the app will be made free for a day on April 18th.

Included in iScanner's update is an increased number of feeds with thousands of new streams, the addition of police/emergency/dispatch codes, and a new and improved user interface.

Features Include:
* Listen to scanner feeds on iPhone and iPod touch devices
* Over 47,000 scanner feeds available from across the USA
* Easily locate scanners by state, county/metro, or by category
* Create/edit a list of your favorite scanners for easy access
* Categories include police, fire, EMS, air traffic control, amateur radio clubs, maritime, railroad, severe weather, and NASA shuttle launches
