CreativeBe Releases Parachute 1.1

CreativeBe has announced the release of Parachute 1.1, an update to its backup application for Mac OS X. Designed by Apple Design Award Winner Dietmar Kerschner, Parachute allows users to run automated, scheduled backups to a wide range of destinations, including FTP servers, external disks, and MobileMe's iDisk. By popular request the new version offers secure backups over encrypted FTP, features full 64-bit support and ships with a faster backup engine.

Philipp Mayerhofer, Chief Operational Officer at CreativeBe, is confident the new Parachute will be well received by users. "By letting users choose their destination and schedule times, Parachute continues to be a flexible complement to Time Machine. The update extends this flexibility to security minded users by supporting backups with FTP over SSL. Plus its faster and harnesses the full power of modern 64-bit systems."
