AT&T Blames Apple for Lack of iPad Tethering

Since AT&T has finally allowed iPhone tethering, what about the iPad?
According to TechFlash, an AT&T spokesperson informed them that it won't be possible to tether the iPhone to the iPad to share internet access due to the lack of a USB Port, but did not mention the use of Bluetooth. However, soon after, AT&T told Gizmodo that iPad tethering is in Apple's hands.
You'll need to speak with Apple. There is no AT&T policy around tethering and the iPad.
Before the iPad launched, Steve Jobs did confirm the lack of Pad tethering via email.
