Apple has released a new promotional video confirming that its exclusive coverage of Formula 1 in the United States will begin on March 7, 2026. The teaser features high-speed racing footage and announces that subscribers can watch every 2026 Grand Prix only on Apple TV, marking the end of ESPN's broadcast tenure in the region.
The video offers a first look at the viewing interface within the Apple TV app, revealing support for Multiview. This feature will allow fans to watch the main race feed alongside real-time onboard driver cameras and data streams simultaneously. The capability leverages the five-year partnership Apple secured in October, which grants the service comprehensive live rights to all practice sessions, qualifying, Sprint sessions, and races.
As part of the agreement, Formula 1's own streaming service, F1 TV Premium, will remain available in the U.S. and is included for Apple TV subscribers at no additional cost. Fans will be able to use their Apple TV account credentials to sign directly into the F1 TV website and apps, ensuring access to the league's standalone features remains uninterrupted for hardcore enthusiasts.
The move underscores Apple's strategy of acquiring comprehensive rights packages rather than fragmented deals, a philosophy Services chief Eddy Cue highlighted when he criticized the complexity of modern sports streaming.
Apple is building significant momentum around the sport ahead of the 2026 season. In addition to live rights, the company's blockbuster film, "F1 The Movie" starring Brad Pitt, is set to make its global streaming debut next week on December 12.
