Apple and Formula 1 have announced a five-year partnership that will bring all F1 races exclusively to Apple TV in the United States beginning with the 2026 season. The deal solidifies Apple's growing sports ambitions and builds on its recent success with the Apple Original Film, "F1 The Movie."
Under the new agreement, Apple TV will provide comprehensive coverage of Formula 1, including all practice, qualifying, Sprint sessions, and Grands Prix for subscribers. Select races and all practice sessions will also be available for free in the Apple TV app. The Apple Sports app will feature live updates, leaderboards, and standings for every race weekend.
F1 TV Premium, Formula 1's own streaming service, will remain available in the U.S. exclusively through Apple TV — and will be free for subscribers. This resolves a key sticking point that was previously reported during negotiations.
"We're thrilled to expand our relationship with Formula 1 and offer Apple TV subscribers in the U.S. front-row access to one of the most exciting and fastest-growing sports on the planet," said Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Services. The deal follows recent comments where Cue criticized the fragmented state of sports streaming and reiterated Apple's preference for comprehensive rights packages.
The partnership also follows the global box office success of the Brad Pitt–led "F1 The Movie," which Apple confirmed will make its streaming debut in December. Apple says additional production details and new broadcast features will be announced ahead of next season.
