How to Upgrade or Restore iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1.1 Instead of iOS 6.0

I have an iPhone 3GS with a new bootrom currently running iOS 5.0.1. I want to upgrade it to iOS 5.1.1 or restore it back to 5.0.1 without updating to iOS 6.0, as I want to keep an untethered jailbreak. I have SHSH blobs saved for versions 4.1 through 5.1.1 and have tried using TinyUmbrella, iFaith, and iReb without success. Is it still possible to move to 5.1.1 now that iOS 6.0 has been released?

To restore your iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1.1 using saved SHSH blobs, you need to use Redsn0w to stitch your blobs into a custom IPSW file. First, download the official iOS 5.1.1 IPSW for your device. Open Redsn0w, navigate to Extras, select SHSH Blobs, and then select Stitch. Choose the IPSW file you downloaded and then select your local SHSH blob file. Once Redsn0w creates the custom stitched IPSW, put your iPhone into Pwned DFU mode using Redsn0w or iReb. Finally, open iTunes, hold the Shift key on Windows or the Option key on Mac while clicking Restore, and select the stitched IPSW file. This method allows you to install firmware that is no longer being signed by Apple.

I found a solution using Redsn0w to stitch SHSH blobs. I saved my blobs using TinyUmbrella, then opened Redsn0w, went to Extras, and selected SHSH Blobs, then Stitch. I selected the 5.1.1 IPSW and the local blob file. After Redsn0w created a custom IPSW, I put the iPhone into DFU mode and used the Shift plus Restore method in iTunes to select the custom firmware. This successfully restored the phone to iOS 5.1.1.
