I would like to know if it is possible to unlock an iPhone 3GS running iOS 5.1 with the 06.15.00 iPad baseband using a jailbreak and ultrasn0w.

Yes, it is possible to unlock an iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1 with the 06.15.00 baseband, but it is highly recommended that you downgrade your baseband first. The 06.15.00 baseband often causes issues with GPS and battery life. By downgrading to a more stable baseband like 05.13.04, you can then use ultrasn0w for a more reliable unlock. Please follow these tutorials to downgrade your baseband before proceeding with the unlock.
