The iOS 6 jailbreak history involves several major releases. For iOS 6.0 through 6.1.2, the evad3rs team released the evasi0n jailbreak on February 4, 2013. This tool provided an untethered jailbreak for all compatible devices, including the iPhone 5. For later versions like iOS 6.1.3 to 6.1.6, a tool called p0sixspwn was developed by winocm, iH8sn0w, and SquiffyPwn to provide an untethered jailbreak for legacy devices. While tethered jailbreaks for A4 devices like the iPhone 4 were available shortly after the iOS 6 launch using redsn0w, the untethered versions remain the most significant milestones in its jailbreak history.
