I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 7 and I would like to downgrade it to iOS 6 or iOS 5. I do not have any saved SHSH blobs for these versions. Is this process possible?

Generally, you cannot perform a standard, untethered downgrade on an iPhone 4 without SHSH blobs because Apple has stopped signing those older firmware versions. However, since the iPhone 4 is susceptible to the limera1n bootrom exploit, you can perform a tethered downgrade using certain utility tools. Keep in mind that a tethered downgrade requires a computer connection to boot the device every time it is powered off or restarted. For a permanent, untethered downgrade, SHSH blobs are strictly required.
