How to Fix an iPhone 3G Stuck on Apple Logo After Restoring Jailbroken Device

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3G that was originally locked to AT&T but was being used in Europe. I tried restoring it to wipe the data, and now it is stuck on the Apple logo. I do not know which iOS version or jailbreak tool was used, but Cydia was installed. How can I recover this phone so it is usable again?

When you attempt to restore or reset a jailbroken iPhone using the Erase All Content and Settings option on the device itself, it often results in a boot loop or getting stuck on the Apple logo. To fix this, you will need to perform a clean restore using a computer. First, connect your iPhone 3G to your computer and put it into DFU mode. To enter DFU mode, hold both the Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds, then release the Power button but continue holding the Home button until your computer detects a device in recovery mode. Once in DFU mode, you can click the Restore button in iTunes or Finder to install the latest supported firmware. Keep in mind that since your device was originally locked to AT&T and used in Europe, a standard restore will relock the device to AT&T. You may need to use a jailbreak tool afterward to unlock it again for use with other carriers.
