I am following the tutorial on how to jailbreak an iPhone 5 on iOS 7 using Evasi0n at http://www.iclarified.com/36997/how-to-jailbreak-your-iphone-5s-5c-5-4s-4-on-ios-7-using-evasi0n-windows. During the restore process in iTunes, I am receiving an unknown error 3014. Should I ignore this error and continue with the evasi0n7.exe installation, or do I need to fix this restore problem first?

To fix iTunes error 3014, you must ensure your computer can communicate with Apple's servers. This error usually happens during a restore process if your hosts file is redirecting requests. You should check your hosts file for any lines containing gs.apple.com and remove them. On Windows, the hosts file is located at C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts. On macOS, it is located at /etc/hosts. After removing these lines and saving the file, restart your computer and attempt the restore again. You must successfully finish the restore before you can proceed with the evasi0n jailbreak tool.
