How to Fix Pangu Jailbreak Timeout Error After Reboot

I am using the Pangu jailbreak on an iPhone 4 running iOS 7.1.2. The process works correctly until the reboot phase. Because the device takes about 2 to 3 minutes to reboot, the Pangu tool displays a red jailbreak Timeout error just a few seconds before the iPhone finishes booting. I have encountered this on both Windows 7 and Windows 8 using Pangu v1.1. How can I get around this timeout?

To fix the Pangu 1.1 timeout issue caused by a slow reboot, follow these steps. First, ensure passcode lock is disabled and iTunes is closed. When the Pangu tool begins the reboot phase and the Apple logo appears on your device, disconnect the USB cable. Allow the phone to finish booting to the home screen while disconnected. Once the device is fully powered on, reconnect the USB cable to the computer. Pangu should then detect the device and finish the jailbreak process.

If you are using a Mac and the disconnection method does not work, try putting your Mac to sleep while the iOS device is rebooting. Ensure WiFi, iTunes, and your passcode are disabled. Put the Mac to sleep as soon as the device begins its reboot, then wake the Mac only after the device has completely finished booting. This can prevent the Pangu tool from reaching its timeout limit before it detects the rebooted device.
