The final official software version released by Apple for the iPhone 3GS is iOS 6.1.6. This version provides the best app compatibility and security fixes available for the hardware. Since your device is on the 05.13.04 baseband, which is highly desirable for unlocking, you should be careful if you rely on UltraSn0w. To maintain your unlockable baseband while updating to 6.1.6, you would need to use a tool like RedSn0w to create a custom firmware that does not update the modem firmware. If you do not need a carrier unlock, you can simply update the device to iOS 6.1.6 via iTunes or Finder.
