I need to transfer my photos and videos from an iPhone 5c to my Mac. Is there an easy way to extract these files directly without using iTunes sync or third-party paid software?

To transfer photos and videos from your iPhone 5c to a Mac, you can use several built-in Apple tools that do not require third-party software.
1. Using the Photos App: Connect your iPhone to your Mac using a USB cable. Open the Photos app on your computer. Click on your iPhone in the sidebar under Devices. You can then select specific photos and click Import Selected or click Import All New Photos to transfer everything.
2. Using Image Capture: This is a great way to move files directly to a specific folder. Connect your iPhone to your Mac and open the Image Capture application. Select your iPhone from the list on the left. Choose where you want to save the files using the Import To menu at the bottom, then click Download All.
3. Using AirDrop: If you only need to move a few items, open the Photos app on your iPhone, select the media you want to transfer, tap the Share icon, and choose AirDrop. Select your Mac from the list, and the files will appear in your Downloads folder.
These methods are free and work with most versions of macOS.
