How to fix redsn0w missing keys.plist error for iPhone 3GS on iOS 6.0.1

I am unable to jailbreak my iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.0.1 using redsn0w. I keep receiving a missing keys.plist error. When I try to manually select the iOS 6.0.1 IPSW file (iPhone2,1_6.0.1_10A523_Restore), redsn0w says the file is not supported. How can I resolve this issue and complete the jailbreak?

To resolve the missing keys.plist error when jailbreaking iOS 6.0.1 with redsn0w, you must use the iOS 6.0 IPSW as a reference point. Even though your device is running iOS 6.0.1, redsn0w requires the original 6.0 firmware file to identify the device and its keys correctly. Download the iOS 6.0 IPSW for the iPhone 3GS to your computer. Open redsn0w, go to Extras, click Select IPSW, and navigate to the iOS 6.0 file you downloaded. Once redsn0w successfully identifies the firmware, click Back and then click Jailbreak to proceed. Always ensure you are running redsn0w with Administrator privileges on Windows to avoid permission issues.

To fix this issue, try the following steps: 1. Ensure you are running redsn0w as an Administrator on your computer. 2. Manually point redsn0w to the iOS 6.0 IPSW file instead of the 6.0.1 file; this is usually the main cause of the error. 3. Check your computer hosts file to ensure there are no entries redirecting gs.apple.com, as this can interfere with the jailbreak process.
