I am looking for a solution to downgrade my iPhone 4S from iOS 6.0.1 to iOS 5.1.1, but I understand that I may need SHSH blobs for the 5.1.1 firmware to complete the process.

Downgrading an iPhone 4S from iOS 6.0.1 to iOS 5.1.1 is only possible if you have previously saved SHSH blobs for iOS 5.1.1. Because the iPhone 4S uses an A5 chip, the downgrade process is significantly more restricted than on older devices. If you have your blobs, you can use tools like Redsn0w to attempt the restore. However, if you did not save your SHSH blobs while Apple was still signing iOS 5.1.1, you cannot downgrade because Apple has stopped signing that firmware version.
