I am receiving an error when opening Pangu that states iPhone 7,2 with iOS 8.1(12B411) is not supported and to use iOS 7.1 through 7.1.x instead. Why is this happening and how can I jailbreak my device?

The error you are seeing occurs because you are attempting to use the original Pangu jailbreak tool which was designed only for iOS 7.1 through iOS 7.1.2. Since your iPhone 6 (iPhone 7,2) is running iOS 8.1, you need to use the Pangu8 tool instead. You can find the correct version of Pangu8 to jailbreak iOS 8.0 through iOS 8.1 on the iClarified jailbreak wizard or the official Pangu website. Make sure to back up your device before starting the jailbreak process.
