Will upgrading my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 require me to unlock it again?

I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.2 that is currently jailbroken and unlocked. If I update the firmware to iOS 8, will I need to perform the unlock process again, or will only a new jailbreak be required?

If you upgrade your iPhone 5 to iOS 8, you will lose your jailbreak. If your unlock was performed via software through a jailbreak tweak, you will also lose the unlock and may not be able to re-unlock it on the newer firmware. If the device was factory unlocked, the unlock is permanent and will persist. Note that iOS 6 is generally much faster on the iPhone 5 hardware than iOS 8.
