iPhone Stuck on Boot With Fuchsia or Magenta Lines

My iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 26.2 suddenly started showing vertical fuchsia or magenta lines during startup and now won’t fully boot to the Home Screen. This happened out of nowhere - I haven’t dropped it or exposed it to water. I have a lot of photos and files on the phone that aren’t backed up yet. Is this a known problem? Is there any way to fix this without losing my photos?

Vertical magenta or fuchsia lines during startup usually point to a hardware issue, most often the display or its connection. Less commonly, it can be a deeper logic-board or graphics problem. This isn’t a known widespread issue with iOS 26.2, and software fixes only help in limited cases.

Start with a force restart (Volume Up → Volume Down → hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears). If it boots, back up immediately.

If the phone powers on but the screen is distorted or unusable, try connecting it to a computer over USB. In some cases, you can still unlock the phone by carefully tapping where the passcode buttons would normally be, even if you can’t see them clearly. If you manage to unlock it, a Mac may recognize the device and allow you to copy photos using Finder or the Image Capture app before doing anything else.

If that doesn’t work, connect the iPhone to a computer, enter Recovery Mode, and choose Update (not Restore). This reinstalls iOS without erasing data if the issue is software-related.

If the lines persist, the phone needs hardware diagnosis. A display replacement resolves most cases; if the issue is logic-board related, repair options may be limited and replacement is often required.

Data recovery note: Modern iPhones encrypt data and tie it to the device’s hardware. There’s no reliable way to remove the storage chip and read photos directly. Recovery is only possible if the phone can be repaired enough to boot and unlock normally.
