I recently bought a new Samsung television that utilizes HDR10+ for high dynamic range. I am looking to upgrade my streaming box and want to know if the Apple TV 4K supports HDR10+, or if it is strictly limited to Dolby Vision and standard HDR10.

Yes, the Apple TV 4K supports HDR10+; however, this capability is exclusive to the Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) introduced in 2022. Previous models, including the 1st and 2nd generation Apple TV 4K, do not support HDR10+ and are limited to HDR10 and Dolby Vision.

To ensure your Apple TV 4K (3rd gen) displays HDR10+ correctly:

1. Open Settings and go to Video and Audio.
2. Set your Format to 4K SDR (this helps keep menus looking normal).
3. Select Match Content.
4. Turn on Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate.
