I am receiving a Missing keys.plist error while trying to jailbreak an iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.0.1 firmware. How can I fix this error and successfully jailbreak the device?

To fix the Missing keys.plist error in Redsn0w while jailbreaking iOS 6.0.1, you need to manually point the software to the iOS 6.0 firmware file. Redsn0w often fails to automatically recognize the keys for iOS 6.0.1. First, download the iOS 6.0 IPSW for your specific device. Open Redsn0w, go to Extras, click Select IPSW, and choose the iOS 6.0 file. After Redsn0w identifies it, you can return to the main menu to Jailbreak or go back to Extras to perform a Just Boot. This manual selection allows Redsn0w to find the necessary files to proceed.

To resolve the missing keys.plist error, you must first go to the Extras menu in Redsn0w and click Select IPSW. Select the firmware file you are using for the jailbreak. Once identified, go back and select the Just Boot or Jailbreak option. If you attempt to boot or jailbreak without manually selecting the IPSW first, Redsn0w will likely return the missing plist error.
