To bypass a forgotten passcode on an iPhone 4s, you must restore the device to factory settings. This process will erase all data, but it is the only way to remove the lock. First, ensure you have a computer with iTunes or Finder installed. Connect your iPhone 4s to the computer using a 30-pin cable. Put the device into DFU mode by holding both the Home button and the Power button for 10 seconds, then release the Power button while continuing to hold the Home button until iTunes detects a device in recovery mode. Click the Restore button in iTunes to download the latest iOS software and wipe the device. Once finished, you can set up the iPhone as new or restore from a previous backup if you have one.

You can bypass the passcode by putting the iPhone 4s into DFU mode and performing a restore through iTunes. Please note that this process will erase all data and settings on the device.
