I am looking for information on whether an untethered jailbreak is currently available for the iPhone 5 and which versions of iOS are supported.

Yes, there are untethered and semi-untethered jailbreaks available for the iPhone 5 depending on the iOS version you are running. For iOS 6, you can use Evasi0n. For iOS 7, Evasi0n7 is available, and for iOS 8, you can use Pangu or TaiG. If your iPhone 5 is running iOS 10.3.4, which is the final supported firmware, you should use the h3lix jailbreak. Note that h3lix is semi-untethered, so you must run the jailbreak app on the device after every reboot to reactivate it. For detailed step-by-step instructions, you can visit the iClarified jailbreak wizard at www.iclarified.com/jailbreak/
