I am trying to unlock an iPhone 3GS from its original network. It is running iOS 6.1 with the 06.15.00 iPad baseband. I have attempted to use redsn0w 0.9.15b3 and installed ultrasn0w via Cydia, but I have not been successful. What is the correct procedure for this specific configuration?

To unlock an iPhone 3GS on iOS 6.1 with the 06.15.00 iPad baseband, you must ensure the baseband is properly flashed and that you use a compatible version of ultrasn0w. 1. Open redsn0w and go to Extras, then Select IPSW. Point it to the iOS 6.0 firmware file (even if you are on 6.1). 2. Go back to the main menu and click Jailbreak. Select the Install iPad Baseband option. Even if you already have that version, reflashing it can fix issues with the unlock. 3. Once the process completes, ensure your device is jailbroken. 4. Open Cydia and add the repo for ultrasn0w or ensure you are using version 1.2.8. On iOS 6.1, you may also need to install the ultrasn0w fixer from a community repository. 5. If Cydia is unavailable, you can manually place the ultrasn0w 1.2.8 deb files into the Cydia AutoInstall directory located at var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall and reboot the device twice.

After restoring your iPhone 3GS to the iOS 6.1.2 firmware, follow these steps to activate and unlock.
1. Open redsn0w 0.9.15b3.
2. Select the iOS 6.0 IPSW and choose the option to Install iPad Baseband (6.15.00). Reflashing the baseband can help if the phone is not activated.
3. After the phone reboots and activates, use evasi0n 1.4 to create an untethered jailbreak.
4. To perform the unlock, install ultrasn0w 1.2.8 from Cydia.
5. If you prefer a manual installation, download the ultrasn0w 1.2.8 deb files. Use a file manager on your PC to place the files in the directory var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall. You may need to create these folders if they do not exist.
6. Reboot the iPhone twice to apply the unlock.
