I am trying to roll back from iOS 6.1.2 to 6.0.1. Does downgrading the iOS firmware on an iPhone void the Apple warranty?

Downgrading your iPhone to an earlier version of iOS does not permanently void your warranty, but it is generally not supported by Apple once they stop signing the older firmware. If you use official methods like iTunes or Finder to restore to a version Apple is still signing, your warranty remains intact. If you use unauthorized third-party tools or exploits to downgrade, Apple may refuse service if the device is currently running that software. However, performing a standard restore to the latest official iOS version typically resolves any software-related warranty concerns before you take the device in for repair.
