Will the Gevey Ultra S SIM still unlock my iPhone 4S if I upgrade to iOS 6?

According to Applenberry, the Gevey Ultra S for the iPhone 4S was initially not recommended for iOS 6 because it had not been fully tested at the time of the software release. Since then, user reports have indicated mixed results. While some individuals managed to get a signal by re-inserting the SIM tray multiple times, others experienced frequent No Service errors or signal loss. If you rely on an interposer SIM unlock, it is generally safer to stay on a supported firmware or seek an official IMEI unlock to ensure stability on iOS 6.

I upgraded an iPhone 4S from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 6 that was using a Gevey SIM. After the update, it initially showed No SIM. After ejecting and re-inserting the SIM tray a few times, it eventually detected the network. It appears the device should be unlocked with the Gevey prior to the firmware upgrade for the best chance of success.

The unlock appears to be temporary on iOS 6. I managed to get an iPhone 4S to show a signal for about 15 minutes, but it eventually reverted to a No Service error. It does not seem to be a stable solution for this firmware version.
