I have never jailbroken my iPhone before and I am curious if it is possible to jailbreak iOS 6 now that it has been released. Also, what are the benefits of jailbreaking compared to the standard operating system?

Jailbreaking iOS 6 is possible depending on the device you are using. For older devices with an A4 chip, such as the iPhone 4, a tethered jailbreak was available early on using RedSn0w. For newer devices like the iPhone 5, the evad3rs team released an untethered jailbreak called Evasi0n which supports iOS 6.0 through 6.1.2. Jailbreaking removes Apple's software restrictions, allowing you to install the Cydia Store. Through Cydia, you can download tweaks and apps that are not available on the official App Store, such as custom themes, system enhancements, and file management tools. This provides much greater control over your device's interface and functionality compared to the standard iOS experience.
