I am looking for the correct version of the evasi0n tool to jailbreak my iOS device.

The version of evasi0n you need depends on the iOS version currently running on your device. Evasi0n7 is used to jailbreak iOS 7.0 through iOS 7.0.6. The original evasi0n tool is used for iOS 6.0 through iOS 6.1.2. You can verify your current version by going to Settings, then General, and then About on your device.
