Beats and Nike have unveiled a rare hardware collaboration with the Powerbeats Pro 2 – Nike Special Edition, placing the iconic Swoosh directly on the earbuds for the first time.
The release marks the first hardware collaboration between the two brands. Beats is also making a notable design shift by sharing branding on the product itself, with the Nike Swoosh on the right earbud and the signature Beats "b" on the left. The design draws on Nike's "Volt" color palette, with speckled accents on a matte black charging case and "JUST DO IT" printed inside the lid.
Aside from the new design, the internals match the standard Powerbeats Pro 2 released earlier this year. Features include Adaptive Active Noise Cancelling, Transparency mode, and wrap-around earhooks designed for workouts. The earbuds also include built-in heart rate monitoring that integrates with the Fitness app and Nike Run Club for tracking performance during training.
Battery life is rated at up to 45 hours of total listening time with the charging case. The earbuds also carry an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance.
To promote the launch, Beats released a campaign video starring LeBron James. The spot, titled "Keep Your Head in The Game," features James on the golf course alongside professional golfer Tom Kim and actors Lionel Boyce and Travis "Taco" Bennett, using noise cancellation to tune out distractions. James, who has been part of the Beats brand since the original Powerbeats, said the earbuds are part of his daily routine for training and recovery. Beats CMO Chris Thorne said the collaboration reflects the shared culture of both brands and marks the first time the Swoosh appears directly on Beats hardware.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 – Nike Special Edition will be priced at $249.99 and go on sale Friday, March 20. It will be available through Apple's online store in the United States, United Kingdom, China, Japan, Germany, Canada, Australia, Singapore, France, Spain, India, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong.
