Netflix has expanded its push into mobile gaming with the release of "Netflix Playground," a new dedicated hub for children now available on the App Store. The app provides a central interactive space for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarten-age children, letting them engage with characters from Sesame Street, Peppa Pig, and the world of Dr. Seuss in one place. Rather than requiring separate downloads for every title, Playground acts as a single home for multiple educational games and activities.
The app is included with an active Netflix subscription and operates without the common interruptions found in many children's apps. There are no in-game ads, hidden fees, or in-app purchases.
The initial lineup includes a range of familiar titles. "Sesame Street" lets children practice matching with Elmo and complete connect-the-dots activities with Cookie Monster. "Playtime with Peppa Pig" features role-playing activities such as driving a bus or making smoothies. For Dr. Seuss fans, "Horton!" focuses on creative cause-and-effect play, while "The Sneetches" introduces pattern recognition through building custom vehicles.
Additional sections include "StoryBots" with puzzles and sticker scenes, and "Bad Dinosaurs," which includes a racing track and a playful music tool with sound effects. A "Let's Color" module offers digital coloring pages featuring characters from across the Netflix kids catalog. "Red Fish, Blue Fish" lets toddlers tap and drag through interactive scenes like a living room and kitchen, or soar in a hot air balloon.
Netflix Playground is available now as a free download for iPhone and iPad with a Netflix subscription.
