Apple has officially released macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 to the public, offering a targeted update for Mac users focused on system reliability. The software carries the build number 25E253 and arrives just over two weeks after the rollout of a more substantial update to the operating system.
The release notes for this version are minimal, with Apple specifying only that the update provides bug fixes for your Mac. This release follows the public launch of macOS 26.4 in late March, which brought several new capabilities to the platform, including eight new emoji and the return of the compact tab bar option in Safari.
That previous 26.4 release also added a highly requested Charge Limit feature for MacBook users. The tool allows owners to manually set a battery charging ceiling between 80 and 100 percent to help preserve the health of the battery when a computer stays connected to power for extended periods. Today's 26.4.1 patch likely resolves lingering stability issues found in those new features or addresses similar refinements found in the iOS 26.4.1 update released yesterday.
Mac owners can download the update by navigating to the Software Update section within System Settings. For users who need full installers or specific restore images for Apple silicon, direct links are available on our macOS Tahoe download page.
