Apple's recently released 13-inch MacBook Air with the M5 chip has dropped to $949.99 on Amazon, bringing the laptop to within a dollar of its all-time low.
The deal applies to all four color options, each configured with 16GB of unified memory and a 512GB solid-state drive. Apple officially introduced the M5 MacBook Air in March, raising the base configuration by eliminating the 256GB tier and moving to 512GB as standard storage. The 13% discount takes $149 off the regular $1,099 retail price.
At the core is Apple's M5 chip, featuring a 10-core CPU and a next-generation GPU with integrated Neural Accelerators. It's designed to handle heavier multitasking and on-device Apple Intelligence workloads while maintaining the MacBook Air's fanless aluminum design. Apple rates the notebook for up to 18 hours of battery life.
The hardware includes a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display with support for one billion colors, along with a 12MP Center Stage camera that supports Desk View. A four-speaker system with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos handles audio.
Connectivity is also improved this generation. The laptop uses Apple's N1 chip to enable Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Ports include two Thunderbolt 4 connections, a headphone jack, and MagSafe charging. It also supports up to two external displays.
