Apple Releases First Trailer for 'The Dink' Starring Jake Johnson [Video]

Apple has released the official trailer for "The Dink," giving audiences their first proper look at the upcoming Apple Original sports comedy ahead of its July 24 premiere on Apple TV. The film stars Jake Johnson, Mary Steenburgen, and Ed Harris. Apple first acquired the film in August 2025.

"The Dink" follows Dusty Boyd (Johnson), a washed-up tennis prodigy whose playing career has given way to coaching children at his father Chuck's (Harris) suburban country club. While Chuck is determined to stamp out the pickleball craze taking over the club, Dusty finds himself on the opposite side after an old injury forces him to try the sport as part of his recovery. Teaming up with Candace (Steenburgen), he unexpectedly embraces pickleball, setting up a battle over the club's future while confronting his father's expectations and the disappointments of his own past.


The film also stars Andy Roddick as Dusty's childhood rival, alongside Patton Oswalt, Chloe Fineman, Chris Parnell, Aaron Chen, and Ben Stiller. Johnson also serves as a producer.

Directed by Josh Greenbaum from a screenplay by Sean Clements, "The Dink" premieres globally on Apple TV on July 24.
