Apple has seeded the third developer beta of macOS 27 Golden Gate for testing ahead of its broader release this fall.
The latest build, macOS 27.0 beta 3 (26A5378j), arrives two weeks after Apple rolled out the second developer beta.
macOS 27 focuses heavily on artificial intelligence and interface polish. Apple is actively addressing readability issues tied to the Liquid Glass aesthetic by offering a new transparency control slider and adjusting active window shadows. The operating system also adopts more uniform toolbars, edge-to-edge sidebars, and cleaner menu bars to reduce visual clutter across the desktop.
Under the hood, Siri AI is now integrated directly into Spotlight through a new Search or Ask interface. The assistant can answer questions about active windows and onscreen content through its new onscreen awareness capabilities, while conversations are available through a dedicated Siri AI app. Other system additions include a Write with Siri generation tool, AI-driven tab organization in Safari, and a rebuilt Image Playground capable of producing photorealistic graphics.
Registered developers can install the beta through the Software Update section of System Settings. Those who prefer to avoid pre-release software can still give their Mac a fresh look by downloading the official macOS 27 Golden Gate wallpaper.
