iOS 27 brings one of the biggest updates to the iPhone experience in years, centered around Apple's new Siri AI. Siri now functions as a conversational AI assistant capable of pulling personal context from apps like Mail and Messages while maintaining onscreen awareness to answer questions about active content. Apple has also added a dedicated Siri app for chat history, a systemwide Write with Siri generation tool, and integrated Visual Intelligence into a new Siri mode within the Camera app. Apple Intelligence also expands to apps including Photos, Safari, Shortcuts, Wallet, and Passwords, bringing new AI-powered tools throughout the system.
Beyond artificial intelligence, Apple is refining the system's visuals and underlying performance. Users can now adjust the transparency of the Liquid Glass interface using a new slider to improve readability. Under the hood, an updated CPU scheduler helps apps launch faster, speeds up AirDrop transfers, improves keyboard responsiveness, and makes transitions between Wi-Fi and cellular networks smoother.
Registered developers can download the new firmware over the air by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update and ensuring the Developer Beta option is selected.
