Apple Releases Third Public Betas of iOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and More

Apple today released the third public betas of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, one day after seeding developer beta 5. Apple also made the third public betas of macOS 27 Tahoe, tvOS 27, watchOS 27, and HomePod Software 27 available to members of its free Apple Beta Software Program.



As these releases match yesterday's developer betas, public testers gain access to the latest refinements Apple has been making ahead of the software's fall launch.


The newest changes include refreshed Liquid Glass app icons for Safari, Siri, Settings, App Store, Remote, and Preview, expanded Siri voice customization for British English with new Pace and Expressivity controls, and a new "Before Searching" settings section. Apple has also added introductory splash screens highlighting new features in Photos, Wallet, and Music. The public betas also include iOS 27's headline features, including Siri AI, the customizable Liquid Glass interface, Visual Intelligence enhancements, Apple Intelligence improvements across the system, and redesigned Screen Time and child safety tools.

Anyone enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program can install the updates by opening Settings > General > Software Update and selecting the appropriate public beta. Those who aren't yet enrolled can do so at beta.apple.com. As always, Apple recommends installing beta software on a secondary device, as pre-release software may contain bugs and other issues.
