The WhiteD00r project aims to bring iOS 4 functionality to your iPhone 2G using a custom firmware bundle.
The bundle created by Matteo Morando is based off 3.1.3 and is built using PwnageTool. It incorporates numerous utilities to add features such as multitasking, wallpaper, tethering, sms count, and more.
A beta for the iPod touch 1G has also been posted for those interested.

Hi There
You will find the download guide if you look in iClarified's 'Past Week"search area.
It should look like this:
"Custom Firmware Bundle Brings iOS4 Features to your iPhone 2G"
Saturday 3rd July 2010 02:07pm.
Hope you find it cause it's a fantastic download for owners of a 2G iPhone!

Downloaded to my 16Gb 2G iPhone and it worked like a charm!
iOS4 wallpapers, native MMS, battery %, and a lot more all on 3.1.3 software.
Only one problem and that was that the icon names are very faint and you need a dark screen to see them. Other than this a great Pwnage Tool.

This would make your slow as dial up. Think about the 3g being slow on 4.0 this thing would be un usable.

Actually it won't make a difference. It has the same components in it as the 3G, with the exception that the GPS and 3G radio is different.

Actually they'll run just fine. I watched they video and these aren't real iOS 4 bundles. They're just apps already available in cydia for all iPhones. He just bundled the apps into a custom firmware so you won't have to install them individually yourself.
