Apple is hiring a Software Engineer to help create a revolutionary new feature in the very foundations of Mac OS X, according to a Job Posting discovered by AppleInsider.
----- Are you looking to help create something totally new? Something that has never been done before and will truly amaze everyone? Are you excited by the prospect that what you helped create would be used every day by millions of Apple customers? Then come and work on with the Mac OS X software engineering team to help build a new and revolutionary feature for Mac OS X.
We are looking for a senior software engineer to help us create a revolutionary new feature in the very foundations of Mac OS X. We have something truly revolutionary and really exciting in progress and it is going to require your most creative and focused efforts ever.
An ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science (or equivalent), five years of professional experience developing C / C++ / Objective-C libraries or frameworks for use on end user systems, experience with developing for Internet technologies and services, and a passion for doing really hard things that have never been done before.
An exceptional candidate will also have up close and personal experience with the HTTP protocol as well as other protocols layered atop it, have participated in or lead the architecture of large web scale systems, have shipped multiple platforms for use by millions of users.
Additional Desired Skills and Experience: ● Mac OS X platform development experience ● Knowledge of Objective-C ● UNIX development experience ● BS in Computer Science or equivalent; 5+ years experience -----
It has something to do with the data center in North Carolina. Maybe a complete cloud computing environment. That means that the entire OS is streamed from there or at least all the applications and data. With a MobileMe account you'll be able to have your own Mac on every other device including all your applications, data, settings etc. Just like it would be your own one. Not just like now with back to my Mac.
The description in this job advert doesn't hint at a new revolutionary feature coming to OS X, it's just standard spicing to make the job look interesting and desirable. iClarified should know better and concentrate on actual news and not complete wild speculation. So much for journalistic quality.
If you actually took the time to look at other apple job listings, you'll see why this is news. There are hundreds of job listings on apple's website, but NO OTHER LISTING is like this. Apple doesn't spice anything up when it comes to job descriptions. All the other ones just say "do this, do that", "you'll be working with this", they give specific names of software and hardware. The level of ambiguity and magnitude in the description makes this listing more exiting and important than anything else. I'm definitely looking forward to this!
