Most media companies are reportedly against Apple's plan for $.99 TV Show rentals with one exception and one undecided.
According to the NY Times, NBC, CBS and Time Warner are opposed to Apple's plan because they worry that Apple's commercial-free offerings will eat into DVD sales and reduce cable subscriptions.
Disney is said to be a go on the plan; however, that is not surprising given Steve Jobs' position as Disney's largest shareholder.
News Corp (FOX) executives are divided over offering TV shows at such a discount due to the same concerns expressed by the other networks; however, CEO Rupert Murdoch is said to be in favor. Murdoch is reportedly prepared to join a six month pricing trial to cement a relationship with Steve Jobs and hopefully reap benefits for the company's newspaper division.
We will find out if Apple has been successful in pitching its plan during a 'Special Event' tomorrow.
