Apple is in discussions with French carriers to offer the iPad 3G at a subsidized price along with a 1-2 year data contract, according to Les Echos.
HardMac reports that all French operators would be negotiating with Apple in order to release iPad 3G offers for the end of the year, aka Christmas time. They will most likely find an agreement as Apple is trying to push its iPad in every segments or niches, and already did some compromises in USA. So we can expect that future iPad 3G offers will be linked to 12 or 24 months subsidized plan, including different data package.
It's thought that the same negotiations are taking place in other European countries.
If what I hear is true it's the same here in sweden, that's why a final date and prize have not yet been confirmed... but we have heard november now at least :)
har vi? varken apple lr ngn tele opratör har väl gått ut med de? ända vi vet är att ipad för stöd för svenska med iOS 4.2. hoppas den inte kommer så man fortfarande kan vara lite unik med sin ipad:)
If they do this, they should subsidize a MacBook Air with a data contract aswell.
They just better not eliminate the pay as you go option, I really like that.
